Summer of code 2018 is coming! For our third annual coding camp we’ve chosen Responsive Web Design as the theme for the first week, so you will be using modern CSS to create amazing webpages that also look great on mobile – so you can share it with your friends!
For the second and third weeks we’ll be introducing you to programming server-side with JavaScript, so you’ll be able to create your own chat apps and Twitter bots.
Here’s a breakdown of what we’ll be doing during camp:
Week 1: Modern Web Design
- Responsive web design

- Optimising websites for the mobile devices
- Hosting and deploying
- Making layout with Grid
- Version control with Git
- Using GitHub to host and collaborate
- Building several real world websites during the week
Week 2: Introduction to programming
- Introduction to JavaScript
- Introduction to Node.js and Express frameworks
- Logical thinking
- Algorithms
- Problem solving and step by step approach
- Writing clean and well documented code
- Version control with Git
- Using GitHub to host and collaborate
- Building a website with express and sending emails through contact form
- Twitter bot
Week 3: JavaScript Programming
- Practicing Node.js and Express
- Chat application
- External APIs
- Deploying apps
- … and more cool stuff!
